Frequently Asked Questions

Mission Trips

What is the cost of your mission trips?

This 8 day/7 night international trip is extremely affordable. Depending on where you stay and how many are on your team, you can expect to pay between $1600-$2000.

Will you book airfare on behalf of the missionary teams?
We do not book your airfare on your behalf because many people like to save money on airfare with points/rewards and/or have preferred airlines. If you would like to have someone book your airfare for you, we recommend our trusted friend Gary at Dealz on Travel.
Where will I stay while serving?

We are now happy to offer two options for accommodations. The stateside office will take care of your hotel reservations at either Hotel Casa Maria in Port Maria or at the Acts Mission House in Galina. Casa Maria has a delightful staff, the rooms are clean, and there is a pool on site. Breakfast and dinner will be provided for you in the cost of the hotel stay. You can find more information about the hotel here. If you have a smaller team of 7 or less, you can opt to stay at the mission house at a reduced rate; however, meals will be your responsibility.

Are the dates for mission trips flexible?
Yes. We often plan the dates for trips based on the previous calendar year; however, if you are bringing a team, our stateside office will be happy to work with you on a date that is not on the calendar.
Can I travel to the mission without a team?
Absolutely. Our ministry leaders are pleased to host individuals, couples, and families. Please contact our office to schedule.
Is it safe to travel to Jamaica?
It is safe to travel St. Mary, Jamaica. It is not considered a tourist area, so it is important that you are always with your team and do not “adventure” alone. Our leaders always use wisdom and discernment when on outings. There is security at the hotel and and the mission house. We have never had any issues with safety in the history of our mission trips.
Do I need vaccinations to travel to Jamaica?
At this time, no vaccinations are required to travel to the island. Please use the US Embassy site for the latest travel requirements into Jamaica.
I want to lead a mission team. What do I do?
Great! Our stateside office is eager to work with you to make sure that you are equipped with the information to do so. Please contact us for a leader packet and our coordinator will assist you in every step of the process.

Do you participate in any rewards programs?

We do! Acts Mission makes money while you shop with Kroger Community Rewards in the Louisville/Atlanta/Cincinnati areas. Simply designate your charity as Acts Mission International Inc. when you register your account.

You can partner with us one-time or monthly to sustain the work that we are doing in St. Mary. Thank you for giving!

How can I help share Acts Mission on social media?

Make sure you join our group on Facebook and follow our page on Instagram. Post about your experiences on the island and make sure that you tag us so that we can share as well! Sharing your experiences within your social community is an effective way to interest others.

What is the greatest need of the mission?
Aside from prayer and giving, our greatest need is for people like you to come and serve on the island. Lead a team, join a team, or come on your own. Serve short term for a week or a longer internship. It is such an encouragement to the people of St. Mary when missionaries travel here to serve them. Mission work often marks you for life! Jamaica is no exception, and we are so grateful for how God mends the hearts of missionaries and supporters to our ministry. This has always been our prayer! Whether you have served several times, once, or not at all, we need your on-going presence to continue to build hope in Jamaica.
